INSIDER'S SECRET to GRAND CRU ROMANÉE-ST-VIVANT ON STEAL!!!
10 meters from where the following wines are made, you'd be drinking DRC Romanée-Conti for $10,000+. In terms of the Burgundy market, this is truly an insider steal. Like all things in Burgundy, the story gets more complicated as you dig deeper. Delightfully, the wine gets better too. Diving into Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru in the village of Vosne-Romanée, the first thing you'll notice is this vineyard directly abuts the hallowed Romanée-Conti Grand Cru. If we dive deeper into the cadastre (ownership registry) maps, we find a tiny plot of RSV located just above the plots of Cathiard, Dujac and Arnoux-Lachaux, and just below the legendary Romanée-Conti vineyard. This here is the storied Poisot plot  (storied amongst the few willing to do the research). Formerly of Louis Latour, this 0.4899ha plot has a near sacramental location directly next to Romanée-Conti Grand Cru. It simply doesn't get better than this. The wine on offer today is that of Franck Follin-Arbelet, whose wife is related to the Poisot family and whose domaine has vinified Romanée-St-Vivant from the greatest section of RSV since 2010. Follin-Arbelet has quietly been imported by Kermit Lynch for some time now, and is simply the sneakiest and smartest way to drink Romanée-St-Vivant at this price.
