“Imagine if Raveneau made Chablis on a sun-kissed Greek Island,” wrote Neal Martin from Vinous. Haridimos Hatzidakis passed away in August 2017, ending a chapter in the history of Greek wine. He leaves a legacy as the cult producer of Santorini who focused on single vineyards and single varieties before anyone else was bold enough. He gained a following as being the first producer to bottle a varietal Aidani, a grape typically blended in with Assyrtiko. The wines continue to be the reference points for the island and are typically allocated upon arrival each year. Today, the winery is in the hands of Stella Hatzidakis, daughter of Haridimos, and has she continued her father's legacy of producing some of the most prized wine in all of Greece.  - Brandon Kerne, MS
