Father John 1908 MMXX is genuinely unique and was made initially as a house-wine for themselves. Still, the vineyard components and craftsmanship were so high that they ultimately decided to bottle a small amount for others. The blend is primarily Pinot Noir and includes Carignan from a vineyard planted in 1908. The fruit spans several outstanding vintages and encompasses some of the top Estates in Mendocino, including Comptche and Greenwood Ridge. They made this wine in a deliciously easy-drinking style that's impeccably balanced, long, complex, and wildly compelling.

With a winemaking style heavily-influenced by the French, proprietor Nicholas Maloney learned his techniques while making wine in Margaux, Nuits-saint-Georges, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. His wines are highly-balanced, terroir-expressive, lower in alcohol, and suited to accompany fine cuisine.

Nicholas sources from maritime-influenced vineyards, and he utilizes whole-cluster fermentation for increased depth and structure. He gently crushes the grapes by foot, which can result in smoother flavors.
