Its 0.39 hectares, planted in 1939 and 1988, grow in shallow, very stony clay that drains quickly, while deeper clays from an ancient riverbed lie further down the vineyard. The domaine was founded by Pascal's great-grandfather Rene and passed from his father Gerard to Pascal in 2005, after Pascal's first career in engineering; he moved the vineyards to biodynamic farming, uncertified, in 2011. The family are related to Mugneret Gibourg, the Vosne estate whose bottles are among the most sought-after in Burgundy, and the wines reach the US through Becky Wasserman \u0026amp; Co., a house long associated with small Cote d'Or growers.
