There is very little of the wine made so it doesn't always get offered in every market. Originally 18 bottles made it to Texas, but we have managed to wrangle a handful of six packs from another state who was sleeping on it. For background, the house that would eventually become Taittinger was one of the first established in Champagne, in 1734. For over two centuries, the family was a blending house. They believed in the superiority of artfully weaving their vineyard sources into harmony. In 2005, for the first time, they released an estate-bottled, single vineyard wine to highlight the old vine Pinot Noir \u0026amp; Chardonnay of their Château de la Marquetterie property in the hills outside Reims. It is barrel-fermented, and aged on its lees for five years before release.
