2024 Laurent Tribut Chablis

Through his marriage to Marie-Clotilde Dauvissat, daughter of Rene and sister of Vincent, Laurent Tribut came into the family behind Domaine Dauvissat, the Chablis estate most often named with Raveneau as the appellation's benchmark. The Dauvissats had bought village Chablis vineyards next to their premier crus to give their children a start, and Laurent and Marie-Clotilde made their first wines from them in the Dauvissat cellar before moving to their own cellar in Poinchy. The approach stayed the same: hand harvesting, fermentation in enamel tanks and aging in used oak for some cuvees, on a domaine of about five hectares where daughter Solange leads the winemaking. This is lean, classically built Chablis with a close kinship to Dauvissat, open young and capable of aging well beyond. The wines reach the US through Vineyard Brands, the importer Robert Haas founded in 1971 on a portfolio of leading Burgundy estates.
