Arnaud & Sophie Sirugue-Noellat are only five vintages into helming their own domaine and the wines already have me questioning why we fight for other allocations and why I pay other producers' prices when this exists. The winemaking couple (Sophie from Domaine Michel Noellat & Arnaud from Domaine Robert Sirugue) began their project in 2016 with two wines: the Vosne-Romanee "Les Barreaux," which sits directly adjacent to Jayer's side of the legendary Clos Parantoux, and a Passetoutgrains Rose, a more playful nod to Arnaud's time apprenticing at Chateau Minuty.

Across the board oak usage is measured, with no more than 15 months in 25 to 30% new oak depending on the vintage. Every cuvee also sees 30-50% whole cluster fermentation, adding a richness of fruit and more uniquely, an incredibly complex spice profile (star anise, patchouli, Sichuan pepper, cinnamon, the list goes on). These wines have captivated me from my first bottle and I consider them must tries for any fans of powerful, perfumed Burgundy a la Meo Camuzet. -WP

Until the new shop opens in San Antonio, we can transfer or ship wine to San Antonio. At checkout, choose Pick Up in Houston, and email us and we will transfer or ship your wine to San Antonio free of charge.
