MONZIO COMPAGNONI: ENDLESS BUBBLES FOR THE LAST DAYS OF SUMMER

While summer may be coming to a close, we know the heat isn't going anywhere so we're bringing out an amazing deal on bubbles to keep us all cool. Back in March we offered the world's lowest price on the 2015 Monzio Compagnoni Franciacorta Rosé, and it flew out the door as fast as it arrived. Everyone loved it so much that we decided to reach out and see if we could snag another batch for y'all. After a chat with the winery, it was discovered that they were sitting on a bit more, including the cooler and especially long-lived 2012s. They were happy to make room in their cellars, so we were able to snap these delicious wines up for a steal. Their summer clean out is our gain, so we are pleased to inform you that the wine is back and at an even lower price!

In case you missed it last time, here is why these wines are special. The winery is a bastion of Pinot Noir in an appellation that's 80% planted to Chardonnay. As temperatures continue to climb, winemaker Marcello Compagnoni has been pleased to see his Pinot retain much more verve and acidic snap, while Chardonnay leans more and more into the tropical fruited profile due to the warmer climate. His plantings are on a seam of limestone tucked behind Monte Alto, a 600m hill in Franciacorta that funnels wind and cool air through adjacent vineyards. For a better sense of the topography, it's the yellow & orange dimple on the left of the zone's inner horseshoe.

These are easy-drinking sparklers that are toasty and juicy enough to satisfy your Champagne craving. Look for notes of dried rose petals, candied apple, blood orange peel, pomegranate, and dried strawberry with more lush tones of toast and vanilla. - BRAD FOX

Houston Orders

After checking out, you will receive a pickup confirmation email when the order has been pulled and packed. You can pickup your wine at our shop at 2301 Portsmouth Street in Upper Kirby, Houston.

San Antonio Orders

Until the new shop opens in San Antonio, we can transfer or ship wine to San Antonio. At checkout, choose Pick Up in Houston, and email us and we will transfer or ship your wine to San Antonio free of charge.
