We are excited to offer an extensive and historical vertical of one of Bordeaux's most storied Grand Cru Classé estates, Château Léoville Barton. This wine has historically ranked amongst the best Quality-to-Price Ratio (QPR) wines in all of Bordeaux, and they possess a consistent record of developing gracefully with age. In a Bordeaux market where many of our favorite estates are now owned by insurance companies or foreign investors, this estate remains symbolic of the old Bordeaux. This winemaking family is now into their 10th generation of family ownership, making Leoville-Barton, along with sister property Langoa-Barton, as the longest-running single family owned estates in Bordeaux.
Leoville-Barton is a Second Growth and star producer of Saint-Julien and highly prestigious and collectible. The wines have never been more exciting deserving of their 2nd Growth status. They are powerful and structured in their youth, and they excel in uneven vintages of moderate potential. We have some superstar vintages, as well as some deep cuts for you to choose from, all of which are nothing but stellar.
"This estate has been on fire in recent vintages, and the 2018 Château Léoville Barton is up there with the best of them." - Jeb Dunnuck
94 points from Jeb Dunnuck: "From one of my favorite estates in Saint-Julien, the 2006 Château Léoville Barton is now fully mature (yet certainly youthful) and has a complex, layered profile that includes ample red and black fruits as well as perfumed notes of leafy herbs, cedar pencil, tobacco, and hints of crushed stone. Medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, and textured, it has the more focused, straight, classic style of this château front and center, with integrated yet still present tannins, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. A classy, layered, complex, textbook Bordeaux, it's going to continue drinking nicely for another two decades, with a gradual decline after that."
