The 2016 Barolo Cannubi is ample and generous, with terrific textural resonance and breadth. Ripe dark cherry, plum, spice, licorice, new leather and menthol all flesh out in a supple, racy Barolo loaded with class and personality. The 2016 is rich, sensual and wonderfully inviting.
Estate Summary
Einaudi is another historic estate that is in the midst of a pretty significant stylistic change. The wines are now made in a much more classic style than in the past, with long macerations and aging exclusively in cask. Proprietor Matteo Sardagna has increased his vineyards significantly in recent years, ushering in one of the most dynamic periods of growth and change I have seen here since I started following these wines more than twenty years ago.
